Boxford Baseball

Winter: the year starts with indoor training to prepare players for the Spring. These are skills and drills based sessions with players grouped by age and skill to work on their fundamentals.

Spring: when the weather warms up we head outdoors for our Spring Little League season. We have 4 divisions for players based upon their age and skill level with appropriate training, coaching, practices and game play. (April thru mid-June) - For league season information (playing dates) see Spring Baseball Tab

Summer: all star tournaments begin with teams competing against top flight players from surrounding towns. (Mid-June thru August)

Fall: a more relaxed environment where teams play in West Peabody a couple times per week under the lights

Spring Baseball, Players Ages 4 - 12

Boxford Baseball’s goal is to teach the game of baseball to all interested kids in a safe and fun environment.  The focus in the Spring is on skills development and fostering a love of the game that will result in kids wanting to continue to play in the years ahead.  The Leagues utilize volunteer parents as coaches to lead the kids using professionally directed practice plans that help the children learn the fundamentals of the sport, and be able to utilize them in age-appropriate game situations.  All teams in the Spring are constructed with the goal of competitive balance, equal playing time, and enable all the players to experience the difference facets and positions of baseball.

Instructional program is intended to introduce young players to the game of baseball.  The intent is to build a love of the game with fun and foundational skills of throwing, catching and batting.

Single A program will continue the successful
Rapid Baseball model started in 2024.   This is an accelerated machine pitch program designed to get keep kids engaged: lots of at bats, lots of in play balls.  We are certain this program will develop our players at a much faster pace and the kids will enjoy this far more!!

(NEW 2025) AA program is a transitional program to build player game IQ with situational play.  Complete baseball rules, with modifications to accommodate the younger player pitching skills development.  The season will begin using machine pitch, with opportunity for player pitch in the later part of the season.  Player pitched games will be by mutual agreement of competing team coaches, with coaches only selecting players who demonstrate strength and control.

AAA and Majors programs are focused on progressively more advanced player skills development in a competitive play environment.
